SYMPTOMS
When you use a Windows 95-based computer to copy a read-only file to a
core SMB server (such as a LAN Manager for UNIX server), you may receive
the following error message:
This occurs when using Explorer or XCOPY to copy the read-only file to the server. This does not occur when using File Manager. CAUSE
This error message occurs because there is a mismatch between the way that
the Windows 95 redirector accesses files and the way that core SMB servers
expect this access.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use the Windows 3.x File Manager tool
(Winfile.exe) to copy the file. This tool is in your Windows folder.
