Msdlc32 Cannot Bind to Dial-Up Adapter

SUMMARY

When you run Msdlc32.exe and add the Data Link Control (DLC) protocol in Network properties, the DLC protocol is bound to the Dial-Up Adapter (if it is installed). When you restart the computer, the DLC protocol is no longer bound to the Dial-Up Adapter.

When you install a protocol, the protocol attempts to bind to all network adapters, including the Dial-Up Adapter, and the initial binding appears. However, Msdlc32 does not bind to the Dial-Up Adapter because there is no client support for Msdlc32 included with Windows. The DLC protocol requires third-party products in order to be used.
