A broadcast address is defined for each network physical media type. For
example, on Ethernet the broadcast address is defined as 0xFFFFFFFFFFFF;
on Token Ring it is either 0xFFFFFFFFFFFF or 0xC000FFFFFFFF. Packets sent
to the broadcast address are expected to be received by all stations on
the network segment or ring.
