Unable to Delete Connect To The Internet Icon with Other Icons

SYMPTOMS

If you try to delete the Connect To The Internet icon from the desktop after you install Windows 98, you may receive the following error message:

Cannot delete file: File system error (1026).

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you select the Connect To The Internet icon and one or more other icons and then try to delete them.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, select only the Connect To The Internet icon, and then delete it.
