During Windows 98 Setup, you may receive the following error message:
You may also receive the following error messages while working in Windows or an MS-DOS session:
CAUSEThis behavior can occur if you try to access a file that has the same name as a terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) device driver ID on your computer or the same name as a hardware port on your computer. For example, if your computer uses a CD-ROM driver with the device ID "MSCD001", you would be unable to access any file named "MSCD001". RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, run ScanDisk. To do so, click Start, click
Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click ScanDisk.
When you run ScanDisk, ScanDisk renames the files that have the same name
as the driver ID or hardware port.
