Disconnecting PPTP Connection Disconnects All Connections

SYMPTOMS

When you disconnect a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) connection, all current Dial-Up Networking connections may also be disconnected.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if MSN, The Microsoft Network, is installed.


RESOLUTION

To prevent this behavior from occurring, quit MSN Quick View before you disconnect your PPTP connection. To quit MSN Quick View, click the MSN Quick View icon on the taskbar, point to MSN Options, and then click Close.
