Links LS Legends in Sport 1997 Edition Setup Hangs in Windows 98

SYMPTOMS

After you install Links LS Legends in Sport 1997 Edition, you may receive the following message:

Warning: The System Agent is curruntly running on your system. This program can interupt Links LS without notice. It is strongly recommended that this program is closed before running Links LS. If you choose to close it, it will automatically be restarted.

If you then click Continue, Links may stop responding (hang).


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, restart your computer, and then disable Task Scheduler. To do so, use the following steps:

  1. Restart your computer.


  2. On the taskbar, double-click Task Scheduler, and then click Stop Using Task Scheduler on the Advanced menu.


  3. Restart your computer.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is not caused by a problem in Windows 98, but may be caused by design changes in Windows 98. For more information about resolving this issue, contact the program's manufacturer.
