SYMPTOMSWhen you start your computer after you upgrade to Windows 98, you may receive a Matrox diagnostic utility error message that says you are using an older version of DirectX. This behavior may occur even if you have the current version of DirectX installed on your computer. CAUSEThis behavior can occur because the Matrox diagnostic utility incorrectly reports that versions of DirectX newer than version 3.0 are out of date.
