SYMPTOMS
After you install the Hewlett Packard (HP) 4P scanner software and then
use the HP scanner software to test the scanner, you may receive the
following error message:
When you click OK, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSEThis behavior can occur when the HP 4P scanner software replaces the Windows 98 version of the Hpsj32.dll file in the Windows\System folder. The Windows 98 Hpsj32.dll file is 36K in size and has a date stamp of 5/11/98. RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
Method 1Extract a new copy of the Hpsj32.dll file from your original Windows 98 CD-ROM to the Windows\System folder.
