SYMPTOMSWhen you install Windows 98 on a computer that has only MS-DOS and a Novell network client (such as Netx or VLM) installed, if you choose to install the Microsoft WebTV for Windows optional component, the correct network protocol is not bound to the TV Data adapter that is installed in Network properties. CAUSESetup does not install Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) for the TV Data adapter when you install Windows 98 over a network using Internetworking Packet Exchange/Session Packet Exchange protocol (IPX/SPX), which is used by the Novell network clients listed above. RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install TCP/IP and bind it to the TV Data adapter.
