Monitor Is Not Powered Off When Computer Is Suspended

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Suspend command on the Shut Down menu, the primary monitor may not be powered off, and a flashing cursor may appear in the upper-left corner of the monitor.


CAUSE

This behavior can be caused by an incorrect Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) setting that controls power management for the display adapter.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you may need to make changes to settings stored in the computer's BIOS. For information about changing settings in your computer's BIOS, please consult the computer's documentation or manufacturer.
