The Distinct Network Client Is Missing from Network Properties

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Windows 98, the Distinct Network Client may be missing from the list of installed network components in Network properties.

The Distinct Network Client may also be missing if Windows 98 is running in Safe mode.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, add the Distinct Network Client to Network properties. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double- click Network.


  2. On the Configuration tab, click Add.


  3. Click Client, and then click Add.


  4. In the Manufacturers box, click Distinct Corporation. In the Network Clients box, click Distinct Network Client.


  5. Click OK, and then click OK again.


  6. Restart your computer when you are prompted to do so.



MORE INFORMATION

Although the Distinct Network Client is not listed as an installed network component in Network properties, it is fully functional.
