Dxinfo.exe Tool Reports That the Directx.cpl File Is Missing

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft DirectX 6.0, the Dxinfo.exe tool may report that the Directx.cpl file is missing.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Microsoft DirectX Software Developer Kit (SDK) is not installed on your computer. The Directx.cpl file is installed only by the DirectX SDK.


STATUS

This behavior is by design.
