SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel, the Disk Compression Tools check box may be missing from the System Tools dialog box. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if the disk compression tools are already installed. When the disk compression tools are installed, Windows 98 removes this check box to prevent the removal of DriveSpace. RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue (for example, if you want to reinstall disk
compression tools), manually create a .inf file to restore the Disk
Compression Tools check box. To do so, use the following steps:
