If you click the Settings tab in Display properties, click Advanced, and
then press ALT+A, either of the following symptoms may occur:

This problem occurs because there are two items associated with the ALT+A
key combination:

To work around this problem, use the appropriate method:
Use the MouseIf you can use the mouse or another pointing device, click Apply or "Apply the new color settings without restarting" as appropriate.Use the KeyboardIf you cannot use the mouse or another pointing device, and you want to click Apply, press the TAB key until the Apply button has the focus (has a dotted-line box around it), and then press ENTER. If you cannot use the mouse or another pointing device, and you want to click "Apply the new color settings without restarting," follow these steps:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
