SYMPTOMS
When you try to move (or cut and paste) multiple read-only dynamic-link
library (.dll) files to another disk or network drive, you may receive an
error message similar to one of the following error messages:
-or- Note that the <Filename>.dll file on the destination drive has a size of zero bytes. If you try to delete this file, you receive the following error message:
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, use the appropriate method:
Delete the Zero-Byte FileTo delete the <Filename>.dll zero-byte file, restart the computer, and then delete the file. For information about how to delete a file, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type "delete" (without quotation marks), and then double-click the "Deleting Files, Folders" topic.Move the Read-Only .dll FilesTo move the read-only .dll files, copy the .dll files to the destination disk, and then delete the .dll files on the source disk. For information about how to copy a file, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type "copy" (without quotation marks), and then double-click the "Copying Files, Folders" topic.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
