SYMPTOMSWhen you use Connection Manager to connect to a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) server over a Remote Access Services (RAS) connection, you may receive the following error message: When you use a Dial-Up Networking connection to connect, the error message does not occur. CAUSEThere is a race condition in Windows 95 and Windows 98 that causes a logon to the network prematurely. This causes the logon not to succeed. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use any of the following methods: Cancel the First Prompt for Windows Domain Logon
Disable the Microsoft Client Binding on the PPP Adapter
