Cannot Use .Jpeg for Active Desktop Wallpaper

SYMPTOMS

If you configure your Active Desktop to use a Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpeg) image file as your wallpaper, the image may not be visible on the Background tab in Display Properties, and None may be selected in the Select an HTML Document or a picture box. Note that your wallpaper may still be visible on the desktop.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are using a .jpeg file as your wallpaper.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the file extension of the .jpeg file to .jpg. To rename a file, right-click the file, click Rename, type the new file name, press ENTER, and then click OK.
