SYMPTOMSWhen you install Windows 98 on an IBM ThinkPad 600 and you have already downloaded and installed the latest Mwave modem drivers for the computer, the modem may not work with Windows 98 Dial-Up Networking or HyperTerminal. The Mwave modem may work properly with third-party programs. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if the installed unimodem files are not the correct version for the Mwave modem. RESOLUTIONInstall the updated unimodem files from either of the following IBM Web sites: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/DSHY-3VQQS6.html ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/mobiles/w98sfdi.exeIf you cannot gain access to the Web sites, contact IBM at (800) 772-2227 to obtain the files.
