Dial-Up Networking Connection Tries to Dial Automatically

SYMPTOMS

When you try to connect to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) after creating a Dial-Up Networking connection, the connection may automatically attempt to connect to the Internet.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Vector Development Dunce version 2.52 program is installed on your computer. This program may not be totally compatible with Windows 98.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Vector Development to inquire about a fix for this issue.

To work around this issue, uninstall Dunce version 2.52. For information about how to do so, contact Vector Development or view the documentation included with Dunce version 2.52.
