SYMPTOMSWhen you view Windows Explorer, My Computer, or Device Manager, you may see drive A, even though there may not be a physical drive A connected to your computer. CAUSEThis behavior can occur when the Io.sys file is executed when you start your computer. STATUSThis behavior is by design. MORE INFORMATIONMS-DOS assigns drive A as a bootable drive and to prevent other storage devices from using this drive letter designation.
