Disney Programs Cause Active Desktop Items to Flash or Flicker

SYMPTOMS

When you use the "Disney Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow" or the Disney Toy Story program, the Active Desktop, the Channel bar, and the icons on the desktop may flash or flicker.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are running the "Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow" or the Toy Story program in a window and you configure your screen to use 256 colors.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, run the programs in full-screen mode or configure your screen to use 16, 24 or 32-bit colors. To change the color depth on your screen, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click the Display tool, and then click the Settings tab.


  3. In the Colors box, click the color setting you want, click OK, and then follow the instructions on your screen to finish changing the color depth on your computer.
