Error Message When Printing Multiple Fonts in the Fonts Folder

SYMPTOMS

When you try to print multiple fonts in the Fonts folder, you may receive one of the following error messages:

Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition

  • An error occured during this operation.
  • ComCtrl32.dll - file cannot start. Check the file to determine the problem.

Windows 95

  • FONTVIEW caused an invalid page fault in module COMDLG32.DLL
  • FONTVIEW caused an invalid page fault in module WINSPOOL.DRV

Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2

Spool32: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If you click Details, the following error message may be displayed:
SPOOL32 caused an invalid page fault in module SPOOL32.EXE


CAUSE

This issue can occur if you try to print multiple fonts in the Fonts folder.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, print fewer fonts in the Fonts folder.

You may receive one of the error messages listed earlier in this article when you attempt to print 30 or more fonts in the Fonts folder. The number of fonts you can print depends on the amount of memory and hard disk space available on the computer.


MORE INFORMATION

When you attempt to print multiple fonts in the Fonts folder, the Print dialog box and the font sample window may be displayed on the screen. After you click OK or Close on the error message, you can click Print on the Print dialog box to print each font.
