Using Pconsole.exe and Pserver.exe Netware Tools Removes Mapped Drives

SYMPTOMS

When you view your mapped network drives in Windows Explorer after you use the real-mode NetWare tools Pconsole.exe or Pserver.exe, the drives are no longer available.


CAUSE

This issue occurs because the process of quitting the Netware Printer tools clears the Network drive mappings.

NOTE: This problem only occurs if IPX is the only protocol installed on your computer.


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

If you are using logon scripts to establish the connection, log off and then log on to re-established the connection to the network drives.

Method 2

Manually re-create the connection to the network drives by using the net use command.
