Pinball Arcade Appears Dim with ATI All-In-Wonder Adapter

SYMPTOMS

When you start Pinball Arcade after you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, the game may not be displayed properly. It may appear dim, or darker than other programs on your computer.


CAUSE

This problem can occur if you have an ATI All-In-Wonder video adapter installed, and your video adapter is configured to use a color palette of more than 256 colors.


RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, change your display settings to 256 colors:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.


  3. In the Colors box, click 256 Colors, and then click OK.


  4. If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
