The Microsoft Network Does Not Install Outlook Express

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install MSN, The Microsoft Network version 5.0 on a computer without Microsoft Outlook Express version 5 installed, MSN Setup generates a message stating it will install Outlook Express, but it does not.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, install Outlook Express manually, and then follow the instructions in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
