Err Msg: Removeit Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Msonsext.dll

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use Remove-It 98 version 4.0 to remove the programs in the Online Services folder, you may receive the following error message:

REMOVEIT caused an invalid page fault in module MSONSEXT.DLL at 0167:79eabb14.
If you click Done, Remove-It 98 continues, but the program you were removing may not be completely removed.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if the program you are removing uses shared files with other programs.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove the programs in the Online Services folder. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.


  2. On the Windows Setup tab, click to clear the Online Services check box.


  3. Click OK.


  4. Close Control Panel.
