SYMPTOMSIf you are located in France and you attempt to dial a number in one of the French overseas territories, an incorrect number may be dialed and you may not be able to connect. The territories affected include:
CAUSE
These territories are part of the French telecommunications system. When you are dialing from France, they are treated as part of the French domestic telephone system, instead of being treated as foreign countries. RESOLUTION
When you configure a dial-up connection originating in France to a phone number in one of the French overseas "Departments" (listed below), select "France" (country code 33) as the Country or Region code for the destination number, instead of the actual territory name.
French overseas territories that are treated as "Territories" (not as part of the French telephone system) include:
MORE INFORMATIONWhen you dial a number in any of these territories from a country other than France, the Country or Region code should be set to the actual country name, not "France." Additional query words:
