SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, you may not be able to use the Internet or your Post Office Protocol (POP3) mail server. CAUSEThis issue can occur if you use the WinGate version 3.0 Proxy service. When you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, the WinGate version 3.0 Proxy service loses its configuration settings to Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, reset the WinGate version 3.0 configuration:
