SYMPTOMS

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the shortcut on the Windows Desktop has the same name as the Web site you want to view.

The Address toolbar is designed to start shortcuts and programs as well as browse to Internet sites.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods:

  • Type the prefix http://, when you want to specify a Web address.

  • Rename the shortcut on the Windows Desktop.
