SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, you are no longer able to run Microsoft Internet Explorer using Internet Explorer 4.0 Compatibility mode. CAUSEThis issue occurs because Windows 98 Second Edition does not retain the Internet Explorer 4.0 Compatibility mode setting. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, run the Iesqrl.exe tool in the Internet Explorer - 4 Compatible folder to re-enable the Compatibility mode feature. To do this, follow these steps:

When you install Internet Explorer 5 on Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98, you can install Compatibility mode if you have already installed Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 on your computer.
