Error Message: Winhlp32 Caused a Divide Error in Module Atm.dll

SYMPTOMS

When you start Language Now version 7 and click Getting Started, you may receive the following error message:

Winhlp32: An error has occurred in your application. If you choose ignore, you should save your work in a new file. If you choose close, your application will terminate.
When you click Close, you may receive the following error message:
Application Error
Winhlp32 caused a Divide Error in module ATM.dll @ 0001:000008E1


CAUSE

This error message can occur if Adobe Type Manager is installed. Adobe Type Manager modifies the [Boot] section of the System.ini file and adds:

system.drv=atmsys.drv
atmsystem.drv=system.drv


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the System.ini file to use the default Windows system driver:

  1. Click Start, click Run type system.ini in the Open box, and then click OK.


  2. In the [Boot] section, locate the following lines, and then type a semicolon (;) at the beginning of each line:


  3. system.drv=atmsys.drv
    atmsystem.drv=system.drv
  4. In the [Boot] section of the System.ini file, type the following new line:


  5. system.drv=system.drv
  6. On the File menu, click Exit.


  7. When you are prompted to save the current changes, click Yes.


  8. Restart your computer.
