SYMPTOMSOn a computer that is running Windows 98 Second Edition and using networking software that is implemented as a Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) intermediate driver, one of the following symptoms may occur:
CAUSEThis problem can occur if the NDIS intermediate driver code is preempted by the operating system when it is not safe to do so. As a result, a "race" or "deadlock" condition may occur, causing the operating system to hang. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
