Modified and Created Time Information Is Not Listed Correctly on the File Properties

SYMPTOMS

When you create a file on another computer on your network, and then view the file properties, the created time may be replaced with the last accessed time. Also, the modified time may be listed as the same time as the last accessed time, instead of the last modified time in Temporary Internet Files.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if Internet Explorer obtains this time information from the cache (Temporary Internet Files).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
