This article describes how to obtain Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) information from the System Information tool (Msinfo32.exe).

To obtain BIOS information using the System Information tool:

NOTE: This information is accurate only if you do not update or change the BIOS since you last ran Windows 98 Setup. If you update or change the BIOS, you must install Windows 98 again to update the information displayable in the System Information tool.

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.


  2. Click Windows Report Tool on the Tools menu.


  3. On the Options menu, click Collected Information.


  4. View the contents of the BIOS= line in the System settings to copy box. This line contains your BIOS information.
