SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to establish a session from a network client to a domain controller, the following DOS 51 error message appears:

The remote computer is not available.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a deadlock condition occurs in NetLogon.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT Workstation and Windows NT Server version 3.5. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.5.
