SYMPTOMS
Windows NT Backup displays only the first backup set on a QIC tape with
multiple backup sets. Once this problem has occurred, it is not possible to
restore data from the missing sets.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. There is a utilty called LDDTU for dumping data from tape. This utility is not for distribution and is unsupported. It is located on:\\CNSSUP1\NTTOOLS!TAPEDUMP\LDDTU.EXE An example of how to dump data from the tape using the utility: lddtu -q -f tapedump.raw -s 5 -b 0 The -S indicates the saved set to dump and increments by two each time. (Therefore, the first set is 1, the second is 3, the third is 5, etc.) Additional query words: prodnt 3.50
