SYMPTOMS
If a Windows for Workgroups dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP)
client has an active lease that is manually deleted on the DHCP server, and
the client attempts to renew its lease using IPCONFIG /RENEW or the
standard renewal process based on lease expiration, the following error
message appears:
WORKAROUND
To resolve this problem, upgrade to Windows NT Workstation and Server
version 4.0.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.5. This problem was corrected in Windows NT Workstation or Server version 4.0. Additional query words: 3.11 prodnt prodtcp32
