TCP/IP Generates Frames with Loopback Address as Source Address

SYMPTOMS

TCP/IP generates echo frames with the loopback address (127.0.0.1) as the source address.

CAUSE

You sent an echo request with the host's network media access control (MAC) address and the TCP/IP loopback address as the destination address.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, install the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.51.

STATUS
