SYMPTOMSWhen a screen saver is configured to start automatically for any user logged in that has an environment of approximately 2000 bytes or larger, Winlogon terminates with an access violation of 0xC0000005. Windows NT displays STOP 0xC000021A. CAUSEA invalid pointer to the environment of the process being created cause the Winlogon access violation. WORKAROUND

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51.
This problem was corrected in the latest Windows NT 3.51 U.S. Service Pack.
