Changing Colors on Cirrus Logic Cards to 65k Can Cause Stop

SYMPTOMS

Cirrus Logic Video can cause a 0x0000001E stop error when set to 65536 colors with a screen resolution of 600 X 800.

WORKAROUND

This problem can be fixed by installing Cirrus.dll and Cirrus.sys from Window NT 4.0 Service Pack 2 or later.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.00. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 4.00. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
