SYMPTOMSRunning a service or an application that makes repeated SCSI ioctl calls may cause the computer running Windows NT Server to stop responding (hang). CAUSE
The computer running Windows NT Server is running out of non-paged pool
memory. This happens because an I/O request packet (IRP) is being allocated
and is never released.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, please see the following article in the
