SYMPTOMSDirectDraw, a component of DirectX that allows applications to write directly to hardware devices, fails in surface creation when larger than 2048 x 2048. CAUSEWindows NT 4.0 currently limits DirectDraw accelerations to surfaces of 2048 x 2048. Some hardware imaging components have dimensions of 2048 x 2560 or higher.
