How to Enable or Disable Network Bindings

This article describes how to enable or disable the network bindings for a specific network adapter, protocol, or service installed on your computer.

To enable or disable a network binding, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then double-click Network.


  2. Click the Bindings tab.


  3. In the Show Bindings For box, click All Adapters or All Protocols.


  4. Double-click the adapter or protocol you want.


  5. Click the network binding you want, and then click Enable or Disable.


  6. Click OK, and then restart your computer when you are prompted to do so.


If you try to enable or disable network bindings using the All Services view, some network bindings are not displayed.
