WinNT 3.51: Problems in Date/Time after Choosing February 29 in a Leap Year

SYMPTOMS

You may experience one or more of the following problems in Windows NT version 3.51:

  • Using the Date/Time tool in Control Panel, if you select February 29 in a leap year, select a non-leap year, and then click Cancel, the system date is set to a random year.


  • Using the Date/Time tool in Control Panel, if you are editing any field other than the seconds field and the time passes midnight, clicking Cancel sets the date to a seemingly random value.



RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
