"Send To" Command Missing When You Right-Click a File or Folder

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click a file or folder, the Send To command may be missing.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if the following registry key is damaged or missing:


HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFileSystemObjects\Shellex\ContexMenuHandlers\Send To


RESOLUTION

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys And Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).


To resolve this issue, verify that the "default" value with a data value of "(7BA4C740-9E81-11CF-99D3-00AA004AE837)" exists in the following registry key:


HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFileSystemObjects\Shellex\ContexMenuHandlers\Send To
