ID: Q219383

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows NT Workstation version 4.0

SYMPTOMS

When the SPX protocol is used on an adapter driver that is NDIS 4.0 compliant, a STOP 0xA may occur in the NDIS media access control driver.

CAUSE

Nwlnkspx.sys allocates a memory block for the NDIS packet. However, the flag field of the packet is garbled because it is not initialized; therefore, the NDIS media access control driver is unable to decide if OobData is valid or not.
