Memory Leak in Routing and Remote Access Service

SYMPTOMS

Large amounts of nonpaged pool will be allocated by the Routing and Remote Access service and never returned to the operating system when you are routing IPX.


CAUSE

This problem is caused by a coding error where the driver was not freeing nonpaged pool memory.


RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
