User Manager "Save Settings on Exit" Does Not Work Unless You Quit Manually

SYMPTOMS

The Save Settings on Exit option of User Manager (Usrmgr.exe) does not work unless you quit User Manager manually.


CAUSE

This is a known issue in Windows NT Server.


RESOLUTION

To quit User Manager and save the settings:

  1. Click User.


  2. Click exit.


  3. Or, press Alt+F4 while the User Manager window is active.



STATUS

This is not a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. Active Directory Users and Computers saves settingspon any type of exit.
