SYMPTOMS
A computer running Windows NT Server 4.0 acting as an AppleTalk zone
router may not reply to a ZIP query from an AppleTalk client on the
local LAN. CAUSE
This problem occurs because the AppleTalk stack only replies to a ZIP
query if the network address supplied in the query matched the first
network address in the range supported by the local zone. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or
the individual software update. For information on obtaining the

STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
